Call your regional PGC office and just ask 'em.

I doubt it would be a problem right now but I wouldn't do it opening day.

You cannot use electronics for hunting, which this would be. BUT, you are using it for scouting, like a trail camera, and that should easily be legal. Also, cannot harass game, IIRC.

Who says your not just flying it around? They can't prove your using it for scouting. Just saying!

If somebody flies their drone around my property, within shotgun range am I allowed to shoot it down? I really think I will if I ever find myself in the position of doing it, especially if I see a camera scouting my property. The scouting will as likely be for something other than game.

I believe you could get arrested for shooting it down. You don't shoot down planes that fly above your property do you? Same thing...

Hardly the same thing! If somebody's drone is within shotgun range, taking pictures or video of my property, I'm pretty sure I'll shoot it down.
If the government starts routinely flying them around private property, maybe folks will become a bit more concerned about the invasion of privacy.

The Feds and local authorities are already doing it, although in limited numbers.. the FAA is still trying to figure out how to regulate.
I am starting to have some real issues with "Big Brother" oversight of everything I do or own.
Do you know for example the police are now using scanners to check in real time every license tag that passes them? Real time data on each and every tag. Drivers license suspended? Get pulled over. Warrant outstanding? Get pulled over. Ignition interlock for DWI? Get pulled over. Overdue library book? Get pulled over..
:/

Oh yea, one flying over me while I have a shotgun in hand, its coming down, and the deeb with the remote comes looking for it, he's likely going to leave in hand cuffs, trespassing charges will be filed.

Wait until you start hearing the stories about the Peeping Tom with the drone.

In the interest of public safety, there are some good things we have, like the DUI lockout locks, etc. One airline pilot reported a drone just missed his plane at 4000 FEET! Bit of a safety issue there.

Didn't one of the clubs that has pigeon shoots shoot one down? Protesting org was using it to video the shoot.

Yes HSUS flew a quad copter over a shooting area on a club during a shotgun shoot. Copter was shot down, well someone yelled "pull" first. Got hung up in a tree, land owner would not let them retrieve it. Was hanging there for quite some time. LEO supported the owner. You do have some rights to the immediate airspace over your property. Your neighbor cannot build a cantilevered structure over your property. Shoot them down.
