No pheasant, but flushed 1st woodcock (cool bird) yesterday morning. Had about 3 hours to hunt this week (5 hours last Saturday) and it would have been great to be able to get out today, Sunday.
Judging from all of the action in my yard and the woods, today is the day to get out, Sunday.

Oh, as I left the field yesterday and turned onto the road in my car, a hen pheasant was doing her best head bob, slooooowly, across the road and into the woods... a safety zone of course. Laughing at me. She was healthy too, and looked delicious.

I saw 3 roadkilled ditch chickens this week. Wonder why we see so many this time of year? My brother, saw 6 RK's along Blue Marsh last Friday on his way to camp.

I remember years ago Dad & I bagged a few while we were pheasant hunting while working in plentya hunting between Monday-Saturday...even with Dad working 2 jobs & me being involved in all kinds of HS sports & o/s activities!! Sorta think folks today in this electronic age ain't quite as efficient as folks in the past at least outside the keyboard.....whutsha think?? ;D

I have not seen a woodcock this year. Saw some splashes and usually flush a couple by now.

I saw a guy pull a woodcock out of his game vest last friday. He got two pheasants and a woodcock. I told him he had a good day!

Flushed 39 woodcock so far, shooting 3 over my pointer. I expect that the big, sweeping winds from the hurricane have pushed quite a few into PA. I'll find out tomorrow.

My brother's crew flushed 21 woodcock in Potter County.
Please, don't ask me where. Top secret info. He wouldn't even tell me!
