Ok guys\gals, and you too Dutch. stirthepot I purchased (Yes, I actually spent ten dollars) on this piece of software for my iPhone. Why? Well, primarily in an attempt to keep myself out of trouble, but also to help assist me in staying in the right place and perhaps teaching me of places that I did now know about. So, in my initial "ramp up" of the learning curve I have found that it's not that difficult to figure out. Some stuff I like, some stuff needs improvements. They have NO stuff on where disabled hunters can hunt. (What a SHOCK!!) But as soon as I can figure out how to contact them I will ask them if they could put a fix in on that. The markings of the "Way Points" are pretty cool, and it has in there "public hunting lands" that if you previously were not aware of, you will now be. Some are a little schetchy on where exactly they are, but the software does provide you with a phone number to call if you get confused. Now.....if the phone number actually works or not??
I found the "Way Points" to be very helpful, except that when I type in the "Details", once I exit the waypoints, they stay in the software, but my "details" seem to disappear?? I can't seem to find out where my details went or why they disappeared, but perhaps some day?? I worked on marking some waypoints in conjunction with Westmoreland Counties GIS system, as Westmoreland GIS has a great system that gives an excellent satellite view of where property lines are, and I can mark way points pretty close to the proper line edges. I don't need to "walk the line" I just need a idea of where the end is, and now if I turn on my phone I will know if I'm trespassing or not. Neat.
It also tells me if I'm in 2D, 2C, or 2B. Of course, I know that but it's a cool feature when you hunt the "Bermuda triangle" of these WMU's. And it will give you what game is in what WMU....'cause they are not the same in the "Triangle". Why did the turkey fly across the road? To either escape the season....or to get seasoned!!! Hey...it's a pea brained bird!!!
Out of 5 stars I'd give it a 4 if I'm in a good mode. If not, I'd give it a 3.5....and that's because of no Disability stuff.
Oopps...I forgot the app link: Game Land App Store

PS.....the software purchase has nothing to do with providing me with escape avenues for my cart. Hey....how good of an escape guy can you be at 7mph with your license clearly displayed on the middle of your back seat?
