...on the Assateague Island surf in VA.
First catches are being reported this past week(pic below). Only slot's(aka Puppy drum allowed 18"-26") which are outstanding eating.
Be chasing these next 3 weeks along with any striper that may show-up!!! Gotta get the surf in the freezer before the turf!!

Caught flounder, snapper blues and kings on the surf. The red drum run never took off except for a few outside slot sized ones caught while I was fishing. After a lil Fall Turkey Hunting heading back mid-November to give it another try plus stripers should be on the move by then. Had adverse wave effects from Gonzales Hurricane & lite Noreaster churning the surf up making fishin tuff....
Crabbing was good with mostly all large Jimmies(males) caught), They were heavy/loaded with meat!!!

A winter toggin trip would be fun, but, I pulled my boat out of the water and winterized it. I've been fishing on my next door neighbor's boat in OC.

Couple years ago Grey Bear, Jr & I went down to Lewes for a toggin trip but the Cap't cancelled when we got there due to high winds. On my "to do" list!! They pretty much tog fish all winter.
