Hunted Sullivan County Thurs-Saturday based out of my hunting camp. Hunted Loyalsock State Forest off of McCarty Road in the Brunnerdale vacinity. Very warm/wet conditions Thurs/Friday but Saturday's cool front dried things off & cooled down nicely into the upper 30"s. Passed on a few BB's plus several small does Thurs/Friday plus saw quite a few grouse & tons of turkey scratchings!! Saturday morning @8am a nice doe was feeding on a ridge above me & offered a decent 90 yard shot which I took. I was carrying my TC Pro Hunter loaded with 110 grains of BH 209 powder pushing a 290 grain Barnes T-EZ MZ Expander. Angling shot went thru shoulder & exited out rear rib cage blowing out considerable lung tissue, bone etc.. through a well expanded exit hole. Deer dropped like a ton of bricks to describe it litely. My first ML kill with the solid copper Barnes Expander T-EZ Spit-Fires and bullet performed exactly as designed to...very deadly. I highly recommend this bullet for anyone looking for an accurate/deadly bullet for today's fast twisting 1-28 barrels. Deer weighed in at 120 lbs. Dropped deer off at my butcher today & having sweet bologna rolls, honey sticks plus balance in roasts, tenderloin, burger & steaks. Useta butcher my own but seems like the Family is hooked on dat delicious sweet bologna plus dem sweet sticks so I take the lazymans path...which ain't too bad if ya have yourself a quality butcher! ;D

One more thing if I was rubbing up against that deer like that I would be dying of allergies I am allergic to the critters.

Way to go Loggy! That's a nice big doe anywhere but especially in the big woods of Sullivan County. Glad you laid off the little guys - it paid off

Thanks all. I was hunting some of the ridges where I had decent longer range visibility so opted to carry my TC Pro Hunter vs my flinter plus the rainy/damp conditions made it a good fit. I look fwd to the Late Season plus a whole bunch of hunting inbetween. Dan...I used for this deer... J L Miller & Sons 4900 Indian Rock Dam Rd, York, PA 17403 (717) 741-2431. Another good local butcher is: Holrick Farm Country Market - 8468 CHURCH RD - Felton, PA. Both make outstanding sweet sticks. I will have some along on one of our fishing trips.

I keep wondering when the last doe in PA will be shot, but we saw roadkills since Loggy got his, so, I don't think we are there yet. LOL
Congrats Loggy!

Things are slowly improving in many areas especially where the now removed fencing has did their job coupled with last years split season. This especially has helped in some of the high pressure areas. Most camps break towards end of first week.

Good for you, Loggy! We know what you mean about the "dampness" Thursday and Friday, but my son, Ken, won't wish to talk about it.

Picked-up my deer meat this evening from JL Miller & Sons buthering here in York County. Professionally processed, cut/wrapped except bologna & honey beef sticks. Owner told me he did 31 deer just on Monday. When you visit their processing room...immaculately clean. Got 5 large sweet bologna rolls made plus 3 lbs of honey sticks rest into loin cuts, roasts, few steaks balance in burger w/20% beef added. Another great job by a local quality butcher!! My Kido's will soon be very happy!! ;D
