Forecasters with the Government Climate Prediction Center said this year’s winter outlook has been tough to predict.
The report was released Thursday.
The northeast part of the country falls into the “equal chance category.”
According to the report, that means from December to February, there is an “equal chance for above, near, or below normal temperatures and/or precipitation.”
Well, OK.
I'm going to have an issue with another low-to-no-ice winter. Hope it swings the other way to brutal...!

I don't want "brutal"; but I wouldn't mind ice skating on the pond again.

I don't mind a few days of below zero but it's when those days turn into weeks that I'm not fond of--
Never tried ice fishing---maybe someday

I hope we just have a normal winter...tempwise!
Last year i had to travel up to my Sullivan County Camp to find lock-ups on Hunters & Rose Valley Lakes since nuttin here in York County locked. Of course...sorta nice gettin away(not from the Mrs of course ;D) and headin North for a lil cold water fishin. Last season there was approx 2 months of decent ice if ur willin to head North. Hunters Lake was locked-up into early March in many areas.
