We live in a small mining town in the Rockies. They've been mining gold here since the 1890's. Our house is almost that old. (these are clues) My wife kept saying she's been hearing something early in the a.m. in the front of the house or on the front porch, so i set the game cam about 15 feet up in a tree in the front yard angling down. Finally, got a few photos of what'd been causing the noises last night. Can you ID this animal, creature, or 2 a.m. thief?

Looks like a donkey or a deer that has a back mane.

At first, i thought it was a big fat lady bending over mooning toward the window with her black underwear line showing, in the above photo. Here's a 2nd photo...

Yep, Bowbum nailed it first, then Muab. Back in 1892, donkeys were all they had to haul the gold ore out of the mines. Then rail cars were invented and they let all the donkeys go. They roamed wild and free for over 100 years, there are still 14 that have free roam in our little town, ancestors from the 1890's. They're kinda celebrities here. This one must have been checking out the newly planted flowers in front of the house at close to 2 a.m.

That's pretty cool. What's the name of your little town? Do the wild donkeys cause many problems?

Neat first post, sir. I wasn't sure until the second photo was posted, but I agree that it is a donkey.

RedArrow: they poop in your yard often, but otherwise most everyone likes them around as they are celebs and tourist attractions. Cripple Creek is our town. Thanks Muttleysgone. I didn't know either at first when first I looked at the photo.
