Just like a new version of dumb and dumber, only this is just a little bit dumber. I asked two guys at a shop I was working in yesterday, they just laughed and said idiots, what do you expect from politicians.

HB2230. Second hurdle lept. Now onto game and fish. Sounds good to me. It is unfortunate that they don't just allow the PGC to regulate them as they see fit.

I have talked to 4 hunters. None of then believe anyone would think assault rifles in deer season is anything but absurd.

That's because they think of 30 round magazines...... PGC could make a 5 round limit.
Of course, you can get a 10 round mag for a Rem 7600, I believe, and it would be legal to spray with that, so, whats the diff?
I think single shots should be the only weapon legal.

This is a LEGAL shotgun for deer hunting in PA.

Far from all sportsmen would support this and I would bet the general public would oppose it overwhelmingly. I am hoping once the public gets wind of this, it will go away.

General public doesn't care one bit. They don't care that the above weapon is legal in PA

I can just see the news media having a field day with this one.
That school shooters kids pictures of him, and a dead deer has been plastered all over the news. Not good for us at all.
And this stuff just begs for coverage. And you know they will find an idiot to interview, not that idiots with AR's are hard to find.

I own an AR and am not an idiot.
I know plenty of idiots that own handguns, do we ban them?
You really need to get your head out of the sand about this issue. The true idiots are those that continue to back down to "the public" and emotion.

The scenario that got the best laugh, was the tree houses with two or three guys and 223 semi autos, and that nice cheap steel jacketed surplus ammo and a big doe with her twin fawns running across a field, of course this will never happen in the real world.
No good can come from adding these weapons to Penns woods, and the harm will be measurable.

Don't want to awaken the sleeping anti gun crowd! We all know as long as we stay as we are they will let us alone. smileys-whistling-823718 Some supposed big gun rights supporters will purposely choose to stir the pot to keep law abiding hunters from using their weapon of choice has has been proven to not have any negative effects to anything. Supporting gun rights on one hand and working against the gun movement on another. Shameful but I expect no less from some.

You mean like they already do with the firearms we already use for recreational and personal protection. How would it be any different? The mainstream media doesn't like most guns to begin with.

I have talked to 4 hunters. None of then believe anyone would think assault rifles in deer season is anything but absurd. Maybe if you asked them about folks using Browning BAR and Remmy 7600s, which is what the few that actually use semis for for big game(even though we are not talking about "deer" or big game hunting as the bill is for predators and vermin), instead of "assualt weapons" which is precisely the term the antis use against us, your responses would be different. "Assault weapons", lol. Jim, for president of ceasefirepa.com!!

Read the news from Alaska, two dead cops, and once again they were not shot with Model 70s Or Dutch's favored the Ruger Number #1. You don't have to look far to see that assault weapons don't belong in our woods.

Is it the gun or the person?

You are not helping hunting or hunters, not unlike a drug addict you can't see the destructive road your on, logic, knowledge and common sense are foreign to your train of thought, with any luck, good or bad this debacle will slowly and quietly go away.

Your positions and statements are so hypocritical is it almost laughable. You obviously can't see how your statements and positions, when it comes to certain action actions types for hunting, precisely parallel the positions and statements used by the antis to keep guns out of our homes. Same talking points. Same stereotypes. Same misinformation. Talk about destructive to gun rights in general. You dodge the questions, dodge the points trying to be made, refuse to address the facts and data we have, side step your contradictions when they are pointed out etc... I am not sure if you have ever answered if it is the gun or the person during these discussions. Have you? Holy cow, I swear I am talking with Bloombergs brother.

I can understand, (but disagree) that you are worried about what image hunters have in the minds of non-hunters, but I think "not unlike a drug addict" you are hallucinating about the destruction you see. Knowledge and common sence tells me that non-hunters likely don't know that we can't hunt with a semi-auto rifle. Most could care less what hunters do, now if you bring it to their attention by asking them if it's ok, then expect to be disapointed on many levels. Just like the Sunday hunting issue.

The comparison is remarkable, I just watched Nancy Pelosi discussing why she lost the gavel in 2010, you two have many of the same talking points. You use the select high points of an incredibly stupid idea and make it seem plausible, kind of like explaining to all of your guests how the captain of you ship has never, ever hit an iceberg. Nice and calming too.
I went to three gun stores last Tuesday, funny thing was I didn't see any "remmy 2400" or even one Browning BAR, both really nice firearms I guess, I have to guess because I've never in my life seen either, yet even Wal-Mart 2 miles up the road has a rack of assault weapons and so did all three gun stores, so lets quit BSing about your full intentions.
