I have moved legislation down and the hunting boards up. I also added a Disability board and Women on the hunt board. Those boards should have been here from the start and we overlooked them. They are now open for all. I also want to point out the news feed will now display important dates example: first day of trout fishing youth turkey day etc. We can put them up there for people's convenience, so they can just log into the forum here and find out there important dates with ease!

I'd get rid of the woman's forum for now. I don't see a need for it

In fact, I'd get rid of Womens AND Disabled; and put in their place ONE forum for NEW HUNTERS AND NEED HELP. Anyone that needs HELP with any aspect may go there. That makes much more sense.

What do the other members think? We have some disabled members and some women members who joined up want them to feel welcome. What's it hurt to have them?

If there is enough space for them I'd say give them a try for awhile. If they end up not being used then get rid of them.

Bud, et al- Let me tell you that when I was a mod on another forum; the women's forum ended up being used as a meat market where some guys did nothing but cruise for women. Others posted lewd comments. I wanted the other place to get rid of it then but they didn't. Its gone here for now at least. Women are hunters too and can post in the general forum.
I would like to see a NEW HUNTERS and NEED HELP WITH THE HUNT (as one single topic) so anyone NEW to hunting or needing help in any way with hunting can go there. As I said above- I personally don't think we need a womens or disabled forum if we have the above- it can all go in one place and anyone who needs help- man, woman, youth, or disabled - can go there. A one stop shop; and those who want to offer a hand with advice or mentoring don't have to check 10 diferent places.

I remember that forum being "cruised" at times. Hated that.
I think a new hunter/hunter needs help forum is a better idea.
I also like that members here are discussing this and after all, IT IS YOUR FORUM.
So, like I like to say, lets give it a whirl. If a forum doesn't work, no harm.

I was once criticized for saying "women don't need special treatment" when discussing special regs for women/youth. So I need to be careful under what "context" I say that. But I agree with Kathy, that we don't need a specific "women's" forum. I'd be upset if you told me you were adding a "Men's Forum" so why should we have a "women's forum"? As long as I can post what I want in the regular forums....no need for special treatment or a stand alone forum. smileys-whistling-823718

Sound as bad as the guy who was running a rather "interesting " ad in the one local shopper paper must have also been cruising the net for a woman as well.

My vote is for an "Old Guy" forum. Let's see, the age group would be any member old enough to qualify for a Senior Lifetime License. That would give the oldsters a quaint little place to go, and beech and moan about things from the outdoors, to their need for a fibrous diet. stirthepot. I thought about such a thing on another website, when I was advocating relaxing AR for guys like my then, late-80 year old mentor and uncle. He passed at 91, and I miss him every day. Well, the guys on the site that weren't nearly as old as I was advocating for, got up in arms and started railing about how they needed no special treatment, blah-blah-blah. rant I told them to relax, that they were mere pups compared to the folks I wanted AR relaxed for, but it didn't ease the "old guy" lashing I took horse2 So I say, give the crotchety old farts their own whizz and moan forum. excited

I do not support the "relaxation" of ARs for oldsters. And I probably whizz'n moan less now at 67, than I did years ago. Now I just do it for the purposes of entertainment.

I'm a boomer, but on the southern end of the "boom scale" as opposed to der northern end. I reckon "old guy" is a relative term. Probably to a guy like Stroupy, I'd be an old guy ?
One things pretty much certain however. If there ever were to be an Old Guy Forum, I think the participants could rest assured they wouldn't get haggled by gals "cruising" that forum in a predatory fashion. rofl

First girlfriend I glommed onto after my dee-vorce, once said "Wow, you're hot"! Reckon I was around 32 at the time? 'Course I had a temp of about 103, when she said that. One of many bouts with severe tonsillitis back then, before I had them cussed things out.
