Hey all you Mitchell Reel enthusiasts... those Black workhorses that many of us grew up with. None of that 10 ballbearing, 5:1 gear ratio stuff. Just gritty, plow-horse reels. Well, I have 4 of them. 2- 300's, and 2- 308's. All stamped "France", the original factory, established in the 1930's ? All are FULLY FUNCTIONAL and ready to fish if one so chooses. Something tells me to hold on to them, but I have some other irons in the fire for other purchases I've committed to, and selling these will help. I will sell all 4 for $190 and ship on my dime. I will separate at $50 each, on the buyers shipping dime. If I end up with 3... or 2... we can work something out as far as multi purchase deal ? there are additional attributes on each that may interest collectors ? Such as Printed vs. scripted name "Mitchell". "Garcia" vs. not, etc. Can handle any inquiries as they may be asked about each ? Send me a messae for interest, or reply here. Can text pics of all if one wants.

The Mitchell 300 had a competitor here in Lancaster Co. We called it the PR 300, it was a Budweiser can with mono wrapped around it and a sinker and a hook on the end of the mono. Prefered by hispanic fishermen without licenses.

LOL.Year ago,I was working my way upstream of the Tunkhannock creek with a spinner, catching and releasing trout as I went.I came to a small waterfall that poured into a big hole. There were about a dozen Japaneese people fishing from the rocks with line wrapped around soup cans, just like you described. They were keeping everything they caught whicj was mostly chubs and fallfish.Everytime I'd release a trout they'd glare in my direction and start jabbering to each other.I never saw that before and haven't since.I lived there my entire life up to that point and have no idea where they came from.

Remember them??? HA...I still use my Mitchell 408!! Anyone remember the 408? When I purchased my first spinning real my choice was either the 308 or the 408. I opted for the 408 because of it's faster ratio. Was that a better choice? I still couldn't tell you that!!! But...I will tell you that I still have it and use it today.

Ugly Sticks may be the best rod ever turned out for the price. Takes monumental abuse to ruin them, and have a sensitive feel with the graphite tips.

I bought 4 really nice Mitchell reels off of Fleroo this afternoon. I'll be fishing with 2 of them this season. I bought 2 new ugly sticks to mount them on. Good deal man!
Thanks

Yep. Good seein ya. BUT, like I said, those jewels are notorious for having bail springs go, so pick up a few to keep as a spare, or you'll be doing the "bail hand flip".
Hey Bush, I'm looking for a 7' Ultr-light Ugly Stick (new from a store). So if you ever come across one, gimme a shout. I have 1, but they are hard to find, and I'd like a spare.
Oh, and, not sure how admins handle SOLD stuff, but this can be tagged as SOLD. Thx.

Gander mountain does carry a wide selection of rods, not cheap mind you , but they have a bunch.
