I got the Wicked Ridge Warrior H something or other; and its just not the bow for me. I can't draw it even with the rope cocker. A crank would work, but if I'm going that route, I want a built in one. Pockets on women's and youth (I wear a youth) clothing aren't big enough to accomodate my gloves let alone a crank, lol. The stock is a little too long as well.
Suggestions?

It seems you got some wrong advice on your bow. Wonder where it came from. ;D
It still can take considerable effort to cock a crossbow with a rope cocker and if the bow does not fit you right, it may be almost impossible without a crank.
For small frame shooters or those with fair strength, a collapsable stocked bow, a bow with a crank or a bow designed with a shorter length of pull and a moderate weight works best.

Let me explain my "issues" a little more.
I have 7 disc herniations split between my upper and lower back.
My left elbow was dislocated and INVERTED in the military, so I don't have full strength there, but its close.
I had tendon surgery in the military from an accident on my right hand, and it causes me to sometimes drop things. I don't have full control there either.
Add a shreaded right rotator cuff, and I have issues "stretching into" a full stock. I can do it, but how much longer? It really takes a concentrated effort now.
I really like the wicked ridge, but I can't cock it myself. It shoots very well! But the issue with the stock length, and me not being able to cock it- forget it.
We got a crank for the parker and I can do that; BUT, again, an issue with the stock length, and carrying around the cocker. I don't want to carry a crossbow and a back pack, and thats what I need to do.
I want to hunt black bears with the crossbow this year; and its very likely I'll be hunting alone. Since they need discharged each night, as of now; I have to take the Parker, which isn't a problem- I can crank it. But its still too long.
I have to have a crank; and I WANT a shorter stock.

Thanks George. I was looking at them. Wicked Ridge's next model up also has a built in crank I think. Still, if I can, I'd like a smaller stock.

I have to have a crank; and I WANT a shorter stock. TenPoints and Wicked Ridge Raider are available with built in cranks(AcuDraw) but their stocks are regular size. Parker makes a Challenger that has a short stock, Excalibur makes the Vixen which has a short stock, Parker makes the Gale Force which has a collapsable stock and Kodabow also has a collapsable stock. None have built in cranks but all have optional attach cranks. The Gale Force and Kodabow can be adjusted down to tiny length of pulls. My 9 yo daughter can shoulder my Parker with the adjustable stock.

Thanks! At least I have a starting point. Since we already have the crank for the Parker, I'll look at that one first.

Couldn't a good gunsmith cut the stock for you??? They do it all the time for short people, shortening the stock.. Get the crossbow (might have spelled that wrong) that you like and have the stock cut down....

Ahhh the wonders of modern technology.. Hey Bob, whats that inline you use? LOL I remember the days of round wheels and flipper rests. Now? Dutch.. I think Bob might have meant cutting the stock (a simple solution in today's high tech world)... Therefore I don't think he was knocking crossgu... I meant crossbow's... See I'm trying... LOL. But really Kathy.... Put a new high tech "watch ama callit" on your X-Mas list ( Hint Brad) and go get the stock cut for this year... Brad.. I still have an older Browning compound Stalker that I bought in the early 70's... I had to drill a hole for the "Berger Button" and it had a flipper rest... Bow killed plenty of deer.. At the time I was shooting 2117 Game Getter's and Savora head's..

Gal, what's wrong with the Parker Xbows??? They do make a model with built in crank. Call Parker and tell them what you are thinkin of, they have a customer service that is the best bar none. The short lth. of pull you want seems like no big deal. You do make me laugh ;D you just need to treat yourself, not new nails, or hand bag a new X bow!!! Gotta love that about you, and why I missed your posts......later

I'm still into the "girly" stuff bg. Thats what Christmas presents are supposed to be! lol
If you think the crossbow is funny, you should have seen the Christmas I asked my parents for a new chainsaw. ;D
I was totally excited when I got it too!
Oh, the year before they bought me a 25-06 and my friends pitched in and got me the scope, sling, case and dies. I had no idea! THAT was awesome too!!

What alot of people say dosen't mean a whole lot. Me, I mostly use a .270 but have seen what a 25.06 can do to deer. A few friends use them and never any problems ever. It takes everything in me not to go get myself a 25.06 If I have anything to do with my G son's and their first deer rifle it'll be a 25.06 Rem. bolt action....later
