I took my model 24 Savage, 22lr over 410 for a walk this morning. Got a little action, but it didn't pan out as I would have liked. I put up 5 deer, saw 3 rabbits and 1 squirrel. Walked for about 4 hrs in Washington County.
Clean miss on the squirrel, but I winged a rabbit and he holed up on me. I hate when it happens! I thought I hit him solid, but after much tracking thru multi-flora rose, he made it to his hole.
ARGH!!!!!

Did some in the early season. First time I hunted squirrels in probably twenty years. Had a blast doing it and managed to knock down two squirrels with the 17HMR.
Took a walk in the Bavington game lands last night looking for predator sign. Seen a absolute ton of rabbit sign in one rather remote area. Would like to kick around in there in February some time with the shotgun.

We got to hook up. I'm hunting right down the road from there. Coyote track everywhere, and I mean everywhere!

Went out this morning, didn't see any. Did see 3 turkeys and a doe though. It was a little nippy out.
