Jim, I am against your personal attacks.
Lynn and I can have a discussion about the WPRA's but don't attack each other.
You enjoy attacking people here.

But it will only be for the wealthy or the ones who live local to the WPRA's. Who wants to spend a hundred bucks on gas or fuel for one maybe 2 "wild pheasants" The guys who are running the program know this, and now they have there own private flock or "wild pheasants" with only themselves to hunt them. As soon as there is a huntable flock, watch how many lands become "unavailable" for hunting Rober, you are not only totally clueless but also insulting with your comments. I know guys who drove to the Midwest and shot two wild pheasants in a week and they went back again! Driving two hours to hunt wild pheasants is no brainer for those who like to hunt wild birds. Now for your last comment. There is a group of guys who have worked for 10 years to establish wild pheasants in this area. Only one is a landowner in the WPRA and he has 5 acres. Nobody has talked to a landowner about leasing or posting any ground for them personally. Now maybe somebody like yourself who doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit them personally can't comprehend such a thing. In any event, you owe me and them an apology. One month ago I bought a 40 acre piece of ground in the WPRA area that I plan to build habitat on for wild pheasants. I hope to someday have a place where I know I and those who have worked hard on this program will have a place to hunt. All of our work to date has been on others with no promise of any benefit. Now I'm sure you think this land purchase was all part of my master plan. You could also look at it as how sure I am this plan will work. Like all other hunting that's done in PA, some will be on private land and some will open to the public. There is no need for anyone to "lease" anything yet. But when the time comes to hunt these "Wild Pheasants", you will see how many of these landowners will be approached by "guides" and there land leased up for hunting. It is the American way Lynn, once the money starts to get shoved in landowners faces who have no ties to PF or any other org. they will put the dollars in their pockets and lease there land for people hunt the birds. This is why it should ALL be done on public land and none on private land. Your wrong about me Lynn, I do a lot of habitat work for me and others, on my land and Public land. I put my money where my mouth is as you do to. Only my money goes where people will be able to hunt now and the future.

Here is your quote "The guys who are running the program know this, and now they have there own private flock or "wild pheasants" with only themselves to hunt them." This is not true and for that an apology is still outstanding. Here is what we have proposed for hunting in the WPRA. We suggest a PALS tag for one wild rooster/year. Anyone caught hunting in the WPRA without a tag on their bird will be fined. This will mean nobody has an advantage over anybody else. Whose going to pay a landowner to shoot one bird? That's right Rober, even us "guys running the program" can only shoot one a year. If you don't think shooting one wild pheasant is worth it, then that's fine. There are over 200,000 game farm birds you can shoot in the whole rest of the state. Honestly I can't figure out how a guy with two bird dogs can be against the wild pheasant program but I get amazed all the time.

So, one tag per year per hunter for a trophy wild pheasant. I am going to load up my dogs and truck and drive 2 hours to put my tag on ONE pheasant per year. What happens if too many hunters do this and the wild population can't sustain it. Are we going to see a limited draw with preference points? What about the out of staters? Will their tags be $600? Of course I am trying to be funny by comparing the pheasant hunt to western big game hunts. BUT, everything I said is a legit point! One tag per year for a wild trophy pheasant. Really? Seriously. Really?

Wrong again Lynn, I have "3" Setters. My young pup might not ever see a pheasant. The PGC stocks birds 3.5 miles from my camp and I drive past them to hunt grouse. It is a much better experience for me and my dogs. I have killed many wild birds in my younger years when they were here in Lancaster Co. and it will never be that way again. I am not going to spend $100.00 on fuel to drive for "1" wild bird. If I would want to hunt them I would go to Martz's and spend $145.00 for 4 of them.
And who is going to patrol the WPRA and check for tags, I think the WCO's have more important things to do. Like I said before, who would want to spend that much money to shoot 1 wild bird. You local guys can have at them.

Rober, I guess I'm not getting my apology. That would be the honorable thing to do but I wasn't holding my breath. On one hand they complain all the birds will be shot when the WPRA opens and then they complain they can't shoot enough. Sometimes I wonder why I even respond to you clowns. After six years it's getting old.

Bring the pups up to the club sometime.

Do you have the local schools involved in any ways with these projects? it certainly seems like there are plenty of learning opportunities for youngsters throughout the whole process. Water quality is one area of measurable improvement.

We have had scouting groups help out and one local college during the flushing surveys. They have a good time hiking through the grass.

Sounds like someone already has the signs up. I guess you have to wait to get your "wild birds" for your 40 acres, as they wont trap and transfer anymore this year or maybe never. Someone needs to tell you there is no Santa.
