Well my brother and I started putting sets in on Friday the 27th and put our last set in on the 28th. We battled high winds, snow, heavy rain sleet and mud every day but the fourth day. Just miserable trapping conditions. But the truth is at this time of year when the weather is the worst the fur is the best! It was still a great couple of days spent with my brother trapping. It was the first line we've run together in over 10 years and our first together in God's country. We were targeting fox and bobcat. We didn't pinch any Cats or coyotes but did manage a couple close calls on the yotes and did pinch a few red fox. Here's some pinch pics... Fox #1 Fox #2 Fox #3 Fox #4 And here's a bobcat my step dad caught on Sunday. The cat on the left is a 24 LBer he caught in 2011. The cat on the right is the one he caught Sunday. He forgot to weigh it before skinning it but it measures 42" from tip of nose to the base of the tail. A monster for sure. I think it is one of those " PA mountain lions" everyone says they keep seeing. LOL

I have some land in Northern Potter you can trap next year if you want. Plenty of cats and yotes. Very easy access.

I generally get up from the day after Christmas till New Years day or the closest Sunday after it (depending when it falls) to trap. My brother lives in Potter and traps from the first day till about Feb. 1st. Your property sounds great... Easy access and we like pinching them deer killers when we can !

Rober's place is near Oswayo, not far from your brother's place, I'd imagine.

We are outside of Oswayo, also might be interested in having him trap all season long. The only thing is when we are up to hunt grouse with the dogs you would have to pull or spring your traps. When we are not there you can have at it. I will talk to our lease President to see if we can get you guys up on our lease to trap also. We have a lot of yotes around and they need to be controlled

Yep you are right in my brother's back yard. He lives off elevenmile road about 4 miles north of Millport. We totally understand the worry about the bird dogs. He has a German shorthair we hunt with and that would not be a problem. We can work with ya's! Here's a pic from a sporty little shoot we had the 1st day this year.

Thanks for posting the trapping pictures. I enjoyed looking at them.
And I swear, when I'm an old man, (I'm 59 now and no, I'm not old), I'm going to have a German short hair like the one in your last picture. I'd have one now but I just don't have a place for it to run. I've seen a few work birds and honestly, I forget to shoot because they're so beautiful to watch!

No problem acorn. Hope to be posting some more pics in a few days. I just got a fresh new property to trap fox on tonite and it's loaded with them! Now I just have to find a hr or two some afternoon this week to swing by and get it set. As for the GSP... Yes you need to have a lot of room to run them. Lexi is on the go, all the time and doesn't like to be inside unless it's dark. And when there's a firearm being held by someone or someone touches her whistle lanyard she goes ballistic. The dog loves to hunt. Her drive is unreal.
