It was 2005 when i shot a doe. pretty much a straight down shot. She was out about 5-8 yds. I was using Spitfires. I hit her, and saw that I got no penetration, yet, she died not far away.
When I got to her, none of the 3 blades had opened up! The arrow was laying beside her and when I opened the blades, there was no blood in the blade channels, meaning they for sure never opened.
It was then, on the advice of Dougell, that I started using Slick Tricks.
I do love these broadheads. Very sturdy and love having 4 blades.
They have served me will and I think I will pretty much always use them. Dependable and deadly.

I used Muzzys for one season. Didn't like the way they flew. Of course, in spite of that, I did kill a doe with one.

Well I shot a ton of heads already and for a fixed blade I would say the slick tricks are the way to go. I shot satalites, muzzy, sulvania, thunderhead, just to name a few but my head buy choice is the Grim Reaper. I have shot dear out to 56 yards with this head and never had any problems with them and even at 56 yards it past right threw never losing energy.

They were all the rage years ago. Didn't know they still made them. From what I understand you can still buy them on E-bay from some guy who has a ton of them. I bought a bunch of them years ago locally and have replacement blades for them.

Started using the Slick Trick's last year... Prior to that I used Wasp SST 3 blade fixed... Very similiar to a Muzzy Head.. Very strong head which I had complete pass through's every time.. All broadhead's will get the job done, if you put it in the right spot.. Anyone remember Anderson's ?? Still have a few pack's left..
