OK 2 days ago I had to run some errands for xmas. My travels took me about 10 miles from my home in different directions on 3 different trips. On each trip, I encountered Ringneck Pheasants near the roadside. The last, had 2 fly from one side of the road to the other right in front of me. GTF you are probably familiar with the area (Dutch maybe also). The field before Torbert Road where the old watering trough used to be. None of the areas are near a Gameland, and all 3 areas were private land. Soooooooo, I guess I have a question. First, could it be the GC recently stocked them in these areas to get rid of their winter stock ? If so, not sure it's a wise use of resource since it is limited (family members) to NO hunting in these field areas. Second, could it possibly be establishment from breeding ? If so, it has to be the most prolific pheasant breeding than I have witnessed in decades. So, again, would PGC empty birds on these private lands ?
Come to think of it, I don't even think we can take Pheasants in this later season. This is all in 2A. That would really have me questioning if they were released by PGC. I'm thinking they weren't moreso now. That may bode well for reestablishment of the birds.

Not sure about your area, Fleroo, but I have seen young pheasants in the area of Camp Rip-N-Tear. This summer we saw six hens and four cocks, all young birds, crossing Jersey Hollow Road. We hear cock birds crowing during spring gobbler season, and there are some hens in the area, so I am assuming we are getting a bit of natural reproduction there.

I made the mistake of seeking adventure on the Laurel Hill Creek portion that lies between the mountains off Jerseyt Hollow. looking at Google Earth, it showed a road called Brushtown I believe that appeared to head down to the creek. Well we took it one dark early morn, and were promptly met by a Gamelands gate at the top of the hill. Deciding it wouldn't deter us, we donned our fishing gear (chest waders and all) and proceeded down the old dirt road. SHEESH was it a walk to even hit water. One of my miscalculations on one of many misadventures.
