Loggy: Lackawanna.
Stroupy: I will!
Squirrels 4, CL: 2
There's a couple lucky squirrels out there. Fun day, sat on an old stone wall for a few hours and they came to me. This is the beginning of my Thanksgiving shmorgasborg!

None. Didn't see any scrapes or rubs. I did a big sweep too.

None. Didn't see any scrapes or rubs. I did a big sweep too. I saw 3 rubs today on a rub line that is there every year I don't know if it's the same buck or if it's just an ideal rub spot. It's actually what made me climb the tree I did today. I had it marked from two years ago and never tried it until today. Worked out good for me.

I tucked into a honeysuckle bush last night, in the rain, and enjoyed seeing a few deer. Had a 5 point at 15 yds. Had the scope on him. He was one "dead" buck. Catch and release.
CL, that sure is one nice pic of the woods.

I have a true story on an unbelievable day Saturday. I've 'gone back' and done a duck hunt last Saturday morning in Sullivan Co. and this Saturday morning (and evening) here on the 'Sock. Last Saturday we decoyed two small bands of Wood Ducks, and took one mature drake,...both times the ducks were in the dekes before we could get on them. Our 'puddle' was just forty yards by 35. This Saturday morning I waded across the 'Sock, here close to home, to a small back water with a good spring feed, and through out five mallard blocks and three Woodie blocks. While I was doing so Ma and three rascal raccoons swam across 20 yards from me. I hunkered down on my folding stool, and issued a few wood duck calls. Not one, but two different flocks of turkeys answered the woodie whistles, and continued to do so for about twenty mutes..and suddenly a hen and very mature drake woodie..were again..on the water, right in the dekes..30 feet in front of me. It was pretty foggy in the valley, never saw them coming. Of course they saw me instantly when I moved the shotgun, went to the air, and I had just enough presence of mind to swing through on the drake fast enough to just cork him with a few pellets out front where it counts, the hen went through the woods, but I wouldn't have shot her anyway. Ten minutes later saw six ducks in the fog, on the water down where the slough met the main channel, and six common mergansers swam up, through my dekes, and ten feet from me..on up to the head of the backwater. Heard them fly outta there about fifteen minutes later, and about fifteen minutes after that the fog started lifting and gave way to sunlight. I decided to sit another half hour and head on back to get to work at the homesite. The I noticed heavy ripples coming downstream toward me in the slough, and raised up enough to see upstream..and there were two 125-150 lb. bears having an honest to goodness 'swim' for the shear joy of a swim. They were on their backs splashing water over their chests and heads, they were pulling themselves along with their front feet, trailing their hind legs, and diving under and attacking each other. After they headed up the ridge I decided to pack up, and was just picking the last two blocks out of the water when I looked downstream and three deer were coming across the riffles I needed cross to get back over yonder side. I let 'em pass..and headed home. NO..I did not have my camera with me I did in the evening, in a plastic bag, in the rain. Saw four wood ducks, high and fast, on a mission to somewhere, got soaked. Loved every minute of it...

Dutch: is the photo good or is it easy to take a pic of something nice?!
By the way, if you remember the aerial photo, that pocketed field is right behind me in the photo. A brook goes downhill right to left in front of me there. I had one cam just right of center in the pic just off the big field edge where I got those super shots of that 8-point.

I dunno CL, just sort of a good feeling looking at that pic. Peaceful, calm. I'm not looking at or for anything, just enjoying the scenery.

I have an iPhone and got a waterproof pouch for the river raft I can take photos through actually, and still use the phone. No more ziplock!
