Seems like I have been making a lot of these posts the last few days, but this is another chapter to what has to be one of the best weeks of hunting that I have ever had. We have been really blessed this season especially with two daughter both hunting for their first season. We were setup this evening along a pasture field that has a bunch of old apple trees. We settled in around 4 PM and almost instantly had some fawns around us. Unfortunately around 5 PM the cows decided to come in and clean up on the apples. With them moving around they kept pushing the deer off the apples. At about 6 PM we saw a buck go running thru the thicket and we guessed that a cow must have spooked it. Thankfully at about 6:30 the cows finally moved on and 4 or 5 doe settled into feeding in the field and also on the apples. Fifteen minutes later we caught a glimpse of movement and the buck was finally coming back in. When the buck stopped offering the "perfect" slightly quartering away angle, Martina let the arrow fly and we saw the Lumenok disappear into the armpit. The buck didn't even make it out of sight before toppling over. Turned out to be an eight point.

That's a slammer of a buck, and a nice shot to boot, great pictures too. I see she gets her looks from mom, huh.

I met the man and his kids. Lots of time, sweat and equity went into to making these successes happen. Great stuff to see. Congrats are deserved. Old Colton is having his limelight stolen this year.
