Yep, he's bedded.
The one with the messed up side is a great buck. Unique.

I'll adjust the stand fer ya. LOL
I killed a nice 8 pt from a treestand maybe 100 yds away back in 09. Last year, saw a brute from another stand about 150 yds away. I keep thinking this big one is the one from last year that left me climb a ladder stand, sit down, and then bust out from the briars 40 yds away. I don't take running shots, so, I just laughed as all I saw was rack running down thru the woods.
This was the first time I ever sat on the ground along this food plot, and I think it was a mistake. Might go back this weekend with my climber and try a tree I used years ago not far away, but on a log trail leading to the plot.

If that brassica keeps the girls around like that they'll surely keep the boys close by. They'll not leave the girls.

That is a clover plot. When I tried brassicas in there, they wiped it out by mid September.

Nothing like a nice secluded clover patch to draw the deer in year round!

You should have seen that patch in June. It was a mess. We hit it with Roundup to kill the grass and weeds. Actually was hoping to kill it and start over. Came back in late july and the thing looked terrific. We then ran a disc over it, one time, then reseeded. Added some powdered lime and 10-20-20, and it look sweet now.
In my mind, its virtually unhuntable. Its on a top, with swirling winds, and is just not easy to access. But, Its a nice place to hang a camera to see what comes out of the clearcut/sanctuary.

Came back in late july and the thing looked terrific. Same thing happened to one of mine. Sprayed it with the intent to replant with brassicas, had little rain and the clover came back pretty well. I still plan to convert it to brassicas I think. Clover is just hard to kill with gly. Can you catch those deer on the way to the plot rather than hunt right on it?

I have a stand about 100 yds back in the woods from this plot. I have always hunted that stand after dawn. have seen deer from it and killed 2 bucks from it, so, I just need to wait until the rut and see what happens. The stand is on a log trail, which the deer use as a travel corridor. I just need to stay out of there orI'll end up killing the spot.
