"NATURAL METHANE FOUND IN PRIVATE SULLIVAN COUNTY WELLS"
Federal, (USGS and PAGS), and PA state agencies collaborated in a small-scale study to try to establish a baseline of "what are normal" expectations of water quality in Northeast PA rural water wells.
In Sullivan County a random sampling produced positive results of naturally occurring methane in 35 percent of wells sampled. Of those, 10 percent tested above one milligram per liter with the highest reading of 28 milligrams per liter, a reading that is high enough to lead to explosive conditions.
"Previously, water quality data were lacking in this region" said USGS scientist Ron Soto who led the study.
These findings provide background information on the presence of the naturally occurring dissolved methane in Sullivan County water wells in areas absent of natural gas development.
A larger sampling size will be needed to provide a regional profile data base.
All well owners were notified of the results.

Wow, talk about speculation, assumption, could be's, might could happens ------ on and on.
Doctors are not gagged or prevented from treating patients for identified toxins one bit. There is such a thing as protection of competitive proprietary ingredients in a wide array of commercial and industrial products. the gas industry is no less entitled to that protection than ---- the drug manufacturers are. Doctors can treat as needed but to state as fact over speculation that fracking caused a problem is ludicrous!

I could paste link after link from multiple sources saying the same things. PA doctors are gagged from telling a patient that they have a fracking related illness. So who is assuming what?

If doctor determine that fracking caused an illness, I for one would love to see the lab work.
I guarantee you, (and I suspect you already know this), more people are harmed by doctors than by any fracking anywhere, any time!

Just saw a statistic the other day that mistakes in medical care is one of the leading causes of death. In the top 10.

Yeah, it is another case of people ignoring the real dangers and imagining some mysterious conspiracy to us all!
Fact is I am in the heaviest concentration of fracked wells in Pennsylvania, there are multiple wells within 1/2 mile of me north, south, east and west. Each and every "water well", whether it be for agriculture or residential use, has been tested by independent testing labs and paid for by the gas companies. Many people, like in my case, have also elected to have their own tests done. I've tested my own well as a matter of caution for years, just with drug store kits for common bacteria, but when drilling began and all the hysteria surfaced, I also had chemical testing done. The Sullivan County project confirms what everyone here already knew --- our water is horrible!

A friend of mines camp recently blew up. It's located in Hillsgrove and was demolished in the explosion. The insurance company determined it to be a methane gas explosion. It blew my friend and his wife out of bed when it happened. Could it be fracking related? It's still under investigation as to the cause.

Yeah, I'm thinking if they ruled out compressed gas or propane or other explosives from an ON SITE source then it most likely "IS" methane --- did ya read the test results for Sullivan County "NATURALLY OCCURRING METHANE" in residential wells? I don't live too far from Hillsgrove but I haven't heard about that...I also read the "Sully" and haven't seen anything in there pertaining to that....? When did it happen and where --- if you don't mind.

Loggy, I'm just over the line north of Dushore in Wilmot Township, Bradford County. Lived,(roomed), in Forksville for eight years with Vic and Alice Cott until I built my first house here in 1980

Bought my Woolrich coat at that store many years ago --- it was "Renningers" for some time after that. Have had some good lunches over the years at the High Knob Inn also.
I have a taxidermist buddy who has friends with a camp just off rte 87 --- picked up one of my mounts at that camp last year or the year before --- the guys there were big on throwing "quoits." Same taxidermist also has a friend with a camp near Millview --- picked up a mount or two from that friend also.
