Black Drum, The smaller ones (25lbs or less) are good eating. They say the larger ones are not good. They get to 100lbs or so. They are a blast to catch. Every spring the drum gather on the Coral beds in Delaware bay just off Slaughter Beach. The best time is the month of May although we caught them into the 2nd week of june this year(its been a strange year so far). Sometimes they are so many you can hear the drumming through the bottom of the boat. That does not make them easy to catch, their mind is on things other than eating.

Never had drum. So far of all i pulled out of the saltwater over many years the blue crab takes the number 1 spot as far as table fare. They just don't spin the drag as well as a fish though!! lol
