Just saw on Meet the Press that the swing states are swinging much more strongly towards the President after current polls.
One interesting poll fact was that people are now more optimistic about the economic future.
People need hope and if there is hope, they will keep what is in place right now.
Not saying this can't be changed, but unless Obama really makes an error, we will have 4 more years.

I think your right Stroupy. People are beginning to spend because they are tired of not spending.

Keep in mind who's telling us things are improving...the liberal media. People will believe anything because they read it on the internet or heard it on TV.

4 more years WITHOUT --tax cuts for the rich to go along with trickle down failure and NOT putting more burden on the middle to lower class--yeah. I can live with that! Heard Mitt in another one of his infamous interview comments say that the Middle Class earns in the $250,000/year range. Heck...i may even qualify for Food stamps under Mitt's guidelines! Sorta took the wind out of my sails..heck i thought i made a decent buck!! lol I think he best keep his mouth sealed unless being thoroughly couched re comments about middle class America. He really has no clue...although it really ain't his fault. Just his elevator for his lil $12 million expansion for his oceanfront property in San Diego(home 1 of 12) likely cost more than all the homes on my street combined. The less Mitt says in the 4-5 weeks ahead...the less time the party will be in the damage control mode & can concentrate on winning.

The sad thing is.....I doubt any of them are going to do anything to cut government, taxes, etc., especially with the current congress. But I'll feel a heck of a lot better about the future of my 2nd Amendment Rights and conservative values with a Romney/Ryan presidency. Come to the conclusion a long time ago.....the rich get richer, the poor get everything for nothing, and the middle class pays for it all.

As a business, you cannot cut revenue and expect to make a "profit", unless you re-engineer your product. Thus, tax cuts will only make things worse. They cannot cut government spending because far too much of it is already a given. they don't want to cut defense, can't cut SS, and if they cut Medicare, the old people will scream. Those are the 3 biggies of spending, and then factor in the interest on our debt, and very little of any substance can be cut. But it mkaes for a good soundbite.

Keep in mind who's telling us things are improving...the liberal media. People will believe anything because they read it on the internet or heard it on TV. Well, when I look at my mutual fund statements, and my stock portfolio, I can see a big difference in my net worth from 2-3 years ago. That makes me feel much better about where I am. That said, my concern is with gas prices shutting down any progress. Funny thing, it seems like traffic is worse now than a few months ago or last year. More traffic means people are going places, and spending money, at least here it seems that way. I did see a treestand, that I DON'T need, at Walmart, that I would LIKE to have..........

If only the wealthy paid their fair share....then they would pay less and everyone else would have to pay more. This class warfare is bogus, the rich aren't the problem, government spending is. The rich get screwed. Top 10 Percent of Earners Paid 71 Percent of Federal Income Taxes Top earners are the target for new tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43 percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income. About half of tax filers paid no federal income tax at all. www.heritage.org/federalbudget/top10-percent-income-earners

Ok, my effective tax rate was 11%.
Mitt Romney's was 14%.
I'm not sure how I see that he got "screwed".

Not really, but did you pay more into the system than he did? This is the reason I am in favor of scrapping the entire tax code and replacing it with a flat rate income tax with no deductions or with a value added or sales tax. In the first place the code is so complicated now that even the IRS agents do not fully understand it. Secondly, the legiscritters have used it to buy votes. Third, we have this "the rich aren't paying their fair share" crapola when the rich pay 70 % of the entire income tax take. Fourth, Romney was right. With 47% of our citizens taking more out of the system than they put into it, and with most wanting more yet, we all need to take a deep breath.
My favorite Murphy's law corellary: The intelligence of the human species is a constant. The population is increasing.

There's not much economic indicators to make people feel good about the future.Just the price of food and gas depresses me.

Dutch, Mitt Romney doesn't collect a salary, he derives his income from his investments. In other words he is paying tax on his capital gains, and that rate is lower than the tax he would pay on a salaried paycheck. If you want him to pay a higher tax rate on capital gains, then you better be prepared to have your capital gains tax rate increase on your investments. And if you're like most people that means geting nailed to the wall when you start taking money out of your 401k, IRA's etc. Be careful what you want, you just might get it. You're buying into the lies and the class warfare b.s. that Obama is spouting.

Here's 2 important questions:
Is it morally right to have 10% of the population pay 71% of the federal taxes while almost half of the filers pay no federal income tax at all?
Are you in favor of wealth redistribution?

Here is what I think is great in recent conversations. A debate of an issue (politics) is happening without either candidate being called names. Its a respectful debate based on policy without name calling right now.
THAT is great!

Are you in favor of wealth redistribution? From each according to his ability to each according to his need. Isn't that the way socialism/communism is supposed to work? ;D
