If you had not posted this I likely would not have known. I don't look at the market daily...or even weekly, but at least once a month.
What goes down must come up.....

Just last month I finally returned back to pre Covid levels in my retirement accounts. Lost 4 years there and my years left is getting smaller before I have to rely on them for income.

When I look back at my net worth from 1985 until now, I'm shocked.
Invest consistently, over a long period, and you'll do well.
I remember the decade of George Bush, was something of a lost decade. Things go up, go down, and go sideways.
Just keep at it

I am at the highest I've ever been. If the market drops 20%, I'll Boo-Hoo, but still be fine.

So if someomne had 50 grand to invest for 10 years, what would some of you bright minded folks do with it?

You must be referring to the Asian Nikkei & Hang Seng exchanges which lost 762 & 450 points respectively. Our DOW closed today up 64.

So if someomne had 50 grand to invest for 10 years, what would some of you bright minded folks do with it? As you earlier said you would vote for Trump if he’s the GOP nominee why not invest in Truth Social(Nasdaq listing DJT)?? If you trust him with managing our country certainly you would fully trust him in managing an equity venture he personally created?

Either my wife is dipping in to my 401K or stocks are down. "Though the Dow ended its losing streak, the down period has zapped much of its year-to-date gain. That is a major reversal considering it approached 40,000 just weeks prior."

So if someomne had 50 grand to invest for 10 years, what would some of you bright minded folks do with it? I'd short sell DJT. But seriously in all honesty I'd put the $50K in about 3 different fund "types" . I would NOT invest in a bond fund. Tech fund, Growth fund, Value fund. I would want at least 2 Growth funds and 2 Value funds and a historically good performing Tech fund.

The predictions are inflation and fuel prices are going up and that doesn't usually help the market. I am going by my 401K and it has gone down as of late. I'm not happy about it, but that's whats happening right now.

On the stock market: If your portfolio was worth $100 last year, then 6 months later it was worth $50, and today it's worth $150.....do you really care about the time it was worth $50?

Or when he's a sore loser and doesn't show up for the inauguration of his opponent. He's a POS, and I voted for him twice

I don't care what media says. So you think he didn't try to thwart the constitutional process? He exhausted all legal challenges available, and still whipped up people into a frenzy. Al Gore exhausted his legal challenges, then CONCEDED, like a true supporter of the CONSTITUTIONAL PROCESS. You people are delusional about this guy. You only see him as some sort of Messiah. He's not

Al Gore won too...Anyone who pushed and agreed with the covid restrictions I don't want them repeating anything with the constitution because you allowed them to sh*t on it when you thought you were going to die. The credibility just isn't there. I didn't forget about that.

Trust me I have been at this long enough to see the ups and downs, been through a few of them in my lifetime. I just don't have as much time for the downs to recover nicely.
