Here's a knot that I started using last year when tying on a new fly. This method is very strong and the best part is...it's fast!! It's also easy to know if you got it right as when you pull it tight, you feel an actual "click" in the knot.
I can think this could be used in everything from tying on a fly to tying on a bait hook.
Click to about the 2:00 minuet mark to get to the how to. The first two minuets is a whole lot of "Bla, Bla, Bla"

Looks like a a good knot!! First I've seen that one. I've been a Palomar Knot guy for many years. Like the Palomar's double cushion at hook eye it gives that provides really good knot strength plus cushions from high shocks. Palomar's probably a lil cumbersome though on a small no. 18 etc fly hook though!!

I've always used the Palomar knot but will try the 6/20 on some flys. It's always a little difficult to get a doubled up line through those small eyes on the flies. Thanks Dave.

My grandfather showed me the Palomar knot when I was a kid and I have been using it ever since. I also have a Cinch Knot Tyer that I love, it makes a world of difference for me.

I have use the 6-20 knot( I call it a forceps knot) for a several years now. I picked it up from a youtube video. It is a real time saver and much easier when you have trouble seeing towards evening or my fingers are cold.
