If you're 50 or over.... maybe. My BIL plus 2 friends recently had shingles. After seeing the sustained horrible suffering they experienced..... I opted for the Shingrix Vaccine. My BIL & friends were not vaccinated. Had my (2nd final dose yesterday). There is slightly more side effects(muscle aches, low fever, arm soreness) associated with the Shingrix vaccination vs the Flu & Covid shots.
A lil more on the Shingrix Vaccine:

My Dad had Shingles and my older Sister did as well. My Dad never complained about anything. Even when he was sick or post surgery for taking a piece of a lung.
But when he got Shingles, my Mother said he was complaining.
That's how bad it is.
I've been meaning to get the shots. But I know I'll lose a day or more.....and that's why I've been putting it off.

I got the shots last year, plus one of those pneumonia shots.
I know people who have had shingles. Nope, not for me.

My BILs shingles infection was about 8 months ago. He had it really bad on large areas of back. He’s now seeing a neurologist for treatment of potential nerve damage. I had the old Zoster shot 9 years ago which doctor said is pretty much ineffective now. My new Shingrix shot should be my last unless there’s shingles in Heaven!

My wife got shingles while she was undergoing chemo treatments. Dr. said it's fairly common then. It effected the vision in one of her eyes and took the pigment out of a spot just above her eye. My younger brother had shingles, supposedly a mild case, but he said it was pretty painful, and he never complains about anything. BUT, I will check with Stroupy to be sure it's safe before I let anyone jab me.

What I have is sort of a "super immune" thing. Which may sound great, but that's what causes the disease. (Body attacked itself)

I had a small episode of shingles some years ago. The nerve pain around the side of my chest was the worst part. I can't imagine those that get shingles on their head, neck or face. I have not got the shot, but am considering it.

(Body attacked itself) People living with and undergoing treatment for cancer are at an increased risk of developing shingles (herpes zoster) and related, serious complications. Getting the shingles vaccine is both safe and effective for people diagnosed with and being treated for cancer.--VerywellHealth

My Shingrix symptoms lasted 1 1/2 days starting about 8 hours after receiving vaccination. I ran a low grade fever(100 & less) plus had fairly significant muscle aches plus mild flulike feeling. After the 1.5 day....nothing...felt totally normal outside of a slight arm soreness in area of jab. The vaccine has an adjuvant(immune system stimulator) which causes stronger symptoms in many patients.

I know it's something I should do, but I keep putting it off. Just like a lot of other things in my life .

My BIL's shingles infection made the below look like a mild case. It ran across entire back plus spread was wider. He missed several weeks of work.

I had a mild case about 10 years ago. Right side of spine, shoulder and back. My pal had a case about 5 years ago that I wouldn't wish on anybody.
I don't like vaccines.
