I like Waylon’s songs and music, and his teaming with Willie and Kris. But. Saw him once at PSU. He was stoned out, or drunk so bad he could barely stand up. I also have no problem with that if that’s what you want to do, been there a couple of times in my younger years, but it was on my time and never affected my work. So if that’s what you want to do, do it on your dime not mind.

1989....That guy can play and sing! I actually think his later years are better than when he first started. Nothing beats that Waylon growl!

One of the best. Gone too soon. Saw him once. I only got into him after he was dead but he died when I was 14 I believe. Funny how he could have never been if he would have died the day the music died.

Couple years ago saw Shooter Jennings at a Toby Keith concert in Philly. Scooter put on a pretty good show.

In 2018, I visited my daughter in Austin Texas and we drove to Luckenbach Texas. Waylon and Willie had a song about Luckenbach. Waylon never visited there until not long before his death
It was 104 that day, and there was an outdoor music venue there. We sat outside, sipping beer, and listening to good music.
It was a near religious experience. 🙂

I always think of when Buddy Holly died his mother thought Waylon was dead for a couple days and one day she recieved a phone call from him. Imagine that situation. I watched his interview about the day the music died. The last thing he said to Buddy Holly Buddy said he hopes Waylon freezes on the bus and Waylon said well I hope your plane crashes... He said that bothered him for years and probably til the day he did die.

I read that he said that. That's enough to make you drink.

I saw Willie, Waylon & Jessie Colter at the civic arena in the late 70's early 80's. One of my favorites for sure.
