Looks like the PGC is proposing reducing the bear muzzleloader season to three days to reduce the harvest of female bears. The new agenda is up. No other big changes. Fall turkey season increased in some units.

Still keeping the doe ML season for that week. They haven't killed off the state Forest deer herd enough, apparently.

Correct, my mistake, the doe season is the same, but bear has been shorten to just the last three days. Both should be just 3 days IMO, and center fire rifles should be eliminated for senior and youth, in my opinion. Course I believe archery season should be shorten by a week, but we all know that’s not going to happen either.

After my experience, I see that youth doe season as a recruitment tool. The old fart season can go. LOL Wait, I'll be eligible for that season in a few years.....😂😂😂

My problem with the old fart and youth season is the firearm. I see no reason why either can’t use a smoke pole. Especially an inline with a scope that is nothing more than a single shot rifle that uses black powder and you load at the muzzle.

That would in effect eliminate the Special 3 Day Deer Season for Youth & Seniors by lumping them along with all hunters(under ML rules). Current Special Season reg does allow the Youth or Senior to carry a flinter or inline if one so desires. Especially with bear in during the Special Season....I think allowing the CF is a good option especially for many youth who are less experienced with muzzleloaders.... JMO.

I don't much care what they do anymore. They do hammer the bears during that inline season but I've yet to see a guy hunting deer with an inline, ever. If you find some bear hitting corn, killing one with an inline isn't that big of a chore. Then again, those are the problem bears that you want killed so I don't know.

Yep……theres always those Daniel Boone types that rarely come along lol. Don’t always agree with the PGC but imo they have their ducks in order in connection with maintaining the Special Seasons “as is”.

Yep……theres always those Daniel Boone types that rarely come along lol. Never wanted to be a Daniel Boone type. I always leaned more toward Simon Kenton or Samuel Brady. Never could master the act of loading a muzzleloader at a dead run though.🤣

I read a book about Kenton and one about Boone. Kenton impressed me even more Allan W Eckert's book "The Frontiersmen" covers Simon Kenton live very well. But my favorite is "That Dark and Bloody River", also by Eckert. Both books are big and cover a lot of history, and a lot of good information on the founding of America. The feats that these frontier people accomplished were amazing, along with the hardships they encountered. It also opened my eyes to the cruelty of not only the Indian, but also the white man toward the Indians.

Read somewhere that Kenton actually saved Boones life during an indian attack. They were friends, and that was stated in different books.
