Yes.....I own a property on Wallops Island, VA bordering Chincoteage Bay. Do all my fishing plus crabbing in the bay all the way out to Chincoteague inlet. Also, do some surf fishing on Assateague Island coast part Chincoteague National Wildlife Park in VA. I keep my boat down there all year.

I love eating Flounder. But I'm too far away to fish for Flounder, and we rarely take a beach vacation. Even if we do, vacation Flounder fishing is simply a costly way to pretend like you are actually Flounder fishing, so I don't do it.

I have been trying to plan a family trip to the Chesapeake bay to go crabbing. I am looking at Crisfield, Md. Gets good reviews for crabbing.

You will have to do the boat tours out of Crisfield to both Tangier and Smith Islands. We did both taking our kids plus grandkids!! We did the dinner combo to Smith Island. Lots of commercial crabbers operate out of Crisfield plus Tangier & Smith Islands. Chesapeake is known for the huge blue crabs. For local action in that area be best to stop at a bait shop. I deal mainly at Capt Steves in Chincoteageue but up along Rt 13 the Seahawk Sports Center(near Pocomoke City) is a great place plus he's likely to have info for crabbing up in that area. Seahawk's a great place to have reel work done plus always has bunker plus all kinds of crabbing supplies on hand.

Have a good trip if you get down. I think you will find that many things haven’t changed over the years.
