Another nice video. What was everyone's opinion of the catfish vs crappie taste? btw, how busy is the lake? I never notice other boats in your videos.

Enoyed video!! Neat you were catching catching crappie in areas slow trolling for cats. Must be a pretty good crappie population there as I always found them in coves, brush etc structure along shore especially early season. I like that...."Catch, Clean & Cook"!!! Those fillets looked YUMMY!!!

The crappie was a little better, but we only had one so not much meat compared to the catfish. At Mosquito lake the Northern part of the lake is off limits to skiing and to the PWC's, so that helps keep it a little quieter. It is a big lake so you can stay way from the other boats pretty well plus we usually go early so that helps too.

THat probably helps the crappie population alot.

Crappies are one of the best eating FW fish!! I used to ice fish for them for many years back when we would get fishable ice. Coming out of cold water those fillets were delicious!!

Yeah, we used to do pretty well on crappies through the ice. as soon as we got home we fried or baked them and they were delicious. I do like eating catfish though. One of my favorites.
