Got this pic on my camera last night. A bunch of hens together. I would have thought they should be sitting on eggs, right? I don't know much about turkey biology or behavior,but.....

From the looks of that strutting gobbler they are still not all serviced.

They may still be laying and will sit when they get a full clutch. I have seen more hens, single and in pairs, crossing the roads in the last couple weeks than I ever remember seeing before. And there has been a big gobbler with 2 or 4 hens in one of my fields a few times in the past week or so.

A lot of our hens are sitting down here, but based on the foliage in your photo it looks several weeks behind us. I bet those hens are laying but not quite sitting yet.

Ridge hit the nail on the head. The foliage in your picture looks a good two to three weeks behind us down here in South Central PA. I'd agree that those hens are still being serviced.
