I am going to head out for a little bit in the morning. Looks like it should be dry here in Western PA first thing.

Encircled by five gobblers at 6:35 and had them working closer when two shots rang out...one in the hollow in front of us and one behind us to the right. We were hunting in the middle of 65 acres with no other hunters supposedly on the property.

Didn't hear a gobble at daylight. Called in three jakes with a few hens at about 7am and gave them the pass. Finally struck a bird at 10:00 but he never closed the distance. Hung it up at noon. Windy and occasional light drizzle on and off. Pretty sucky morning of turkey hunting. Just a few gobbles all morning.

A buddy of mine went out yesterday morning and didn't hear a gobble. He said it was cold and windy between the showers. He had planned on going this morning but I told him it was to be colder and breezy. I stuck my head out when I left the dog out this morning and it had already showered, was terribly breezy and cold with a blustery sky. I wondered if I had put my snow-blower away too soon.

Back from trip early. Freezing rain/snow plus high winds on top. Streams yellow muddy with major flooding over their banks. Saw 2 turkey in field behind camp trying to dry out. Other than that...a wonderful trip.

My brother called in a gobbler from behind. I asked him why he doesn't call them in front of him. Pretty simple idea, right? He didn't say a word....

Still listed by PFBC as "stocked" from head to mouth. Since great flood of 2016 pretty much just a washed out gorge strait shot to the Sock. It was always a good area for some natives...mebbie still is further upstream but havent been there lately. All the prior bends, holes etc pretty much gone along with a big 2 story home that stood in area of my pic(actually middle of current stream). Original stream was unbelievably rerouted(naturally) about 30-40 yards closer. Also a brick rancher totally gone on left just before rt 87.

Haven't been out since the opener since I keep waking up to steady rain. But this morning my drive bys before work revealed two nice longbeards working a field corner that I can hunt before work. If tomorrow morning is dry, I will be there at 5:30am............. Have to pull the plug by 7:30.

I was out Saturday where I called the turkeys in for my daughter it was silent. By 8 it was raining again and I'm getting at the age that I don't need a turkey that bad to sit in the rain for it.
