Last Thursday we had a hunt at Royal United scheduled. This could have been Mugs's final hunt since he is 15 years old now, but both he and his girlfriend Rosie who is 14 did fairly well. Mugs and Rosie are showing their age. When younger, both pointed with 90 degree straight up tails, but no longer. Belle, Pat's other setter is only 9, and she had a great day. She was a veritable chukar vacuum, and was in on most of the birds. The older dogs did so well that we decided to do one more hunt this coming Wednesday. Ms. Linda, Pat's wife, did the usual wonderful job of photography. A few of her best efforts follow  Mugs and Rosie  All three setters on point or backing  Belle shows class |

That brings a tear to my eye.R.S.B has a GSP that I believe is 12 or 13 AND HUNTED MOST DAYS THIS PAST YEAR.I hunted behind him a number of times and Dick will miss him when he's gone.

You miss them all, but we have to keep in mind that God, in his infinite wisdom, gave dogs a shorter lifetime than us humans so we could have many wonderful friends.  |
