I'm for a slot limit. Not too small. Not too big. We need those for advertising.

I gave-up WVA hunting as it always came in during PA's Bear Season opening. A tough choice though. I don't bear hunt in Pa so the WV deer opener has always peaked my interest. Just looked at sleepy creek online. How is the terrain there? Pretty steep or rolling? We camped at camping area near center of lake. Terrain in/around lake(& eastward) fairly flat with some rolling terrain(nothing too steep). We mainly hunted western area of WMA on other side of lake(fewer hunters/better habitat plus borders farmland on WMA westerly border). There it has some steep terrain leading down to flat bordering lake but nice ridges to set-up stands. Another option to accessing that area(vs crossing lake) is taking an access road from very southern tip of WMA. Last time I was there it was very rough definitely 4WD needed but you can travel along top of ridge and either drop down on right(towards lake) or left side of access road where there's a nice ridge or 2 before you hit private land. Found the left side access road best for turkey although I killed all my deer on right side ledges facing lake. Also, you can drive to WMA north end and access from that point but a pretty good hike. I preferred either accessing from crossing lake or coming in from southern access road. They may have improved access road.

Thanks for the info. I need to make during a WV rifle hunt a priority one year and make it happen.
