Has anyone seen much rutting action over the past few days? We are seeing very little compared to most years. That could change this morning, but I have expected it everyday for the last week. Still pics of bucks at night on the two cameras I have out.

Funny you mention that. I see the bucks chasing....I've not heard any grunting....and I've done some extensive searching for scrapes. When I find a scrape I setup over that....ALWAYS!! But I've yet to find a scrape.
These next two weeks will be the peak.......after last evenings setup, I left with 15 minutes of daylight left as sitting where I was for 3 hours resulted in seeing nothing!! So, I drove around the 100 acres with binoculars in hand looking for deer in the field.
So...I now know I need to move my setup to a different location. The big rack deer I previously had trail cam pics of I no longer am seeing. But I doubt all 3 were killed. More like they have moved to other areas.....but may be back.
Trail cam's get only so much. The small buck and 6 doe I glassed last evening were all in a large "top field" where I have a camera setup in a small tree clump area....but not one pic. Deer were not close enough.

On this date last year I saw bucks 13 different bucks and a couple doe being chased before 11:00. Nothing this morning and only a spike and two 6 points this week plus a few does. Maybe things will break loose in the next day or two.

Slowest November for me ever thus far. I keep records. The highlight thus far was having a bobcat walk directly under my stand this morning. I sure hope it picks up next week. The weather is not helping.

Nephew's wife saw a big buck go by her this evening. Her first encounter with a buck in bow season. She's crazy about hunting!
Her daughter was with me. We had a decoy out, nice long spike came right up to the decoy from 90 yds away. It was ever so slightly quartering towards, and it needed one more step, and off it went. The 11 year old was shaking, and smiling! Great memories. Her sister who had an encounter the night before, saw nothing.
Just an amazing two nights!!

Hey, is it cold up North? It's midnight and I was just outside checking the weather and looking at the constellations. There's the warmest Southern wind blowing. It's ridiculous. The only good thing about it is it's blowing the leaves on my oak tree over to the neighbors.

My cameras started to pick up good daytime movement the week prior to Halloween but many of the bucks seems to have returned to night movement with this heat. Lots of fresh scrapes still being worked. Its happening but a lot of it is at night where I am at.
