Yes, I agree Mel. I know a few of Senator Kasunic's constituents DID email him. I'll ask them to set up a meeting. I also go (very rarely) to one of his sportsman's clubs where he is well recieved. I'll ask them if I can get a demonstration down there and invite Sen. Kasunic. Senator Brewster is about an hour away; so perhaps we can get him to come along as well as the new Senator that took Orie's place if he gets elected-
Solobay is near and there are a few others over that way too.
We did work with Will in Senator Kasunic's office, and were there several times. We believed everything was resolved.
Will had several amendments to offer that would have made the bill palatable to the Senator. We told him to just run them. They were never brought up.
Senator Alloway said he met with all of the members of the committee the day before and Senator Kasunic made some visits too we were told.
We had the votes- they were there, and they didn't run the bill. It blew my mind.

'Tis the season again for odd things to happen (or not happen). Positions taken to possibly gain a few votes; Postions not taken, lest they annoy someone that might cause the loss of a few votes. Survival mode, until after the office is once again secured. So as is often the case with sportsmen's issues, we wait until "next year" once again.

I can't see why Pa. has not passed legislation legalizing the use of "leashed dog's" in recovering wounded game animal's.. Illinois I believed legalized them back in 2004.. We used one back a few year's ago to find a buck my brother hit. I did a grid search for several hour's after losing the blood in a big CRP field. One of the other outfitter's had a guy called TrackerJohn on call, so we called him over and it was a pleasure to watch his hound work.. Found deer less than 50 yd's from where I gave up...

It's another tool that is long overdue for adoption in PA, like so many other things we lag far behind other states in adopting here.
Just how things seem to go here: Bring it up; Think about it forever; Study it forever; Ignore every bit of available info on the subject, from other states' experiences; Maybe adopt it...some day.
"WE don't have that here and WE don't need it", seems to be the operative mindset lately? Both among hunters and our elected representatives.

And now we have a chairman of the Senate Game and Fish committee that will block good legislation for sportsman just because he hates the PGC. If the PGC is in favor of a piece of legislation, he will not even allow it to come up for a vote.
I am hoping his performance on Wednesday has sealed his fate and he will no longer be chiarman come January.
