My nephew and family are at camp. Yesterday they drove over to Benezette to see the elk. They were well rewarded. He said the trip back, thru southern Potter, there was a young bull on the berm of the road. That could do some major damage. In all, they saw 70, plus heard them bugling. I'm guessing the girls now want to put in for an elk license. Lol

We were there a few years ago. Drove up, watched the elk herds, listened to the bugling, had a young bull walk right out in front of my car....this was in town so I was going slowly and hit the brakes!!
Very enjoyable place to go if you like the outdoors and wildlife!!

Very nice area to visit!! Only been there once....2 years ago for my late season elk hunt. Killed my elk early in the week so spent the week touring the area while my elk was being processed at a local butcher.

Bennezette is a zoo.Evertime I go up I wish I hadn't.There's elk all over that area and they're easy to see in other places with much less congestion.I really feel bad for the residents of that town.

There were pics from Coudersport yesterday of two bulls sauntering around. The bedded down near UPMC Cole Memorial Hospital. They will have trouble finding mates that far north?
Still, it points to range expansion
