Hiking 37 today saw my first grouse brood in 3 years...at least eight. Made my day

I have never seen a grouse "brood" in my life. I've seen more than one pout a little though.

I believe I have seen one grouse in the last 10 years. That in areas where I used to have 10 or more flushes on a good day.

We flushed 7 the other week. My brother flushed 6 in the same area last week. Hoping they have some resistance to the virus

I remember one rainy day in October many years ago in Washington County. My brother and I had 18 flushes. They are gone from the areas I hunt.
