Well......thus far I've not received my HD pic that I chose yesterday....at the cost of $5. I'm thinking Revel maybe splitting this $5 with web site owners. Ever wonder how Dutch gets these new cameras?

After some further investigation .....it appears my two older cameras need to have the software updated. Apparently, this can only be done on-site. So, I downloaded the update on my new SD card ('cause the files take up over 6-GB) and I'll update them this week.
Then.....before I activate my new camera I need to remove the update files from the new SD card....'cause the new SD card is the only one I have that is big enough to copy these update files in.
It likely won't do anything if I fail to remove the update files first.....but then.....you know how "that shouldn't happen"....actually does happen.

I put a call into their tech support. I gotta update the software & then the HD can be selected for sending to my phone.
The guy who owned the land said he spotted an albino doe on the place. Hopefully I’ll get a pic!!

The saga continues. So my buddy decided to give tech support another chance and got a fellow that was extremely helpful. Turns out it was bad sim cards. He is now up and running and the X's are sending pics to the app.

Well....my first disappointment with my older Reveal X's. I went to update the software and it will not update. I searched the web, found video's that others have posted that have the same problem. I can download the update files....but the camera's won't work properly to update.
I put in a "ticket" and I'll see what happens. Apparently the camera's may need to be sent back....which isn't gonna happen on my end until at least January.

Well.....after a good nights sleep and a brain that, this am, was functioning at it's normal 10% capacity....I figured out how to get the camera (actually 2 cameras) to update to the new software.
So, within ten minutes I had 'em both updated....and then off to my happy hunting grounds to hang 'em up!!

Then there's this: And on this pic....which started the entire camera software update....those are NOT antlers. They are the end of weeds that happen to be there.

Buddy just sent me a pic from his Reveal X. A barred owl in flight during daylight. I guess the trigger speed on these cameras is pretty good!

I do have my trapping license....may be a good way to reduce the population. Can't use cable's until after Christmas. I do have that certification...I don't really understand the "wait until 12-26" date.

I think the date for us to start using cables is set in hope of avoiding conflict with bird dogs and beagles. And they don't freeze down in the colder weather. I got my certificate the first year they were allowed But have only used them a few times for anything other than beavers. They work very well for them.

Those cable restraints could kill a determined dog under the right circumstances.

This is almost.....and by that I mean 5 of 7 nights every week....pic's I get from my trail cams. I believe this is the main reason the bucks I've previously had pics of.....along with more pics of doe.....have diminished. I know coyotes will harass and kill deer if the conditions are right....and the deer would avoid the dogs as opposed to fighting them. I've re-boiled and waxed my jaw traps. Gonna set up some flat-set's and monitor via my trail cam's. So.....SNAP and hold that dog (hopefully "those" dogs) for the "thinning of the herd". (Yes...I do have a trapping license.) I plan on setting three traps at the two different spots and put them in a 20-30 yard circumference. Looking for a double! Maybe more!!

I think setting a trail cam over a trap would be neat, especially these cell cams.

I love my Cell Cam I'm on my 2nd Covert Blackhawk LTE. I got 4 good years out of my first one. It never left the woods, kept it out 4 straight years. It finally started eating batteries this spring. I purchased the same cam in the 2022 model for $100 cheaper than the first ones with better picture quality and GPS tracking. I love it.

I have a friend who used the Spypoint add on and wasn't thrilled with it. Personally I wouldn't put money into a 15 year old trail cam but that's some awesome longevity!

Good luck in setting traps for those yotes!! That would really be neat capturing that on a cell cam!! I brought all of my trapping "stuff".....well....except my hand shovel .....a shovel is sort of "key" in setting traps! So...no traps were set. But I setup overlooking this small field waiting for buck or "dog" to come along. So...at 6:30 I decided to call it a wrap after sitting (and frankly enjoying the great weather) and seeing nothing. So, I just get my cart loaded on the truck and my phone gives me notification......of this!! Now I know they are taunting me!!!!
