Dave and I made it to camp for the opening of spring gobbler season. Since I haven't heard a gobbler sound off since last May, and none did so on Saturday, we decided to finish cutting next fall and winter's firewood supply. That chore is now history. Of course it didn't get completed without problems. My chainsaw decided it didn't want to participate any more. It will need professional help at the chainsaw counselling service. Wouldn't you know it? Sunday morning when I got up a hen turkey was in our driveway thumbing her beak at me. She stayed around the cabin for about twenty minutes. Here is what the cabin porch looks like now. I think we can stay warm next fall and winter.

Looks like you guys are well prepared for Fall/Winter hunting season Mutt!! When I took ownership of camp after Dad, Pap & uncles all passed I converted camp from wood burning to ventless propane heater fueled by 400 lb o/s tank. Get my chainsaw buzz/woodburning jollies at home playing with my Harman stove.

We throw the main furnace on to heat the place up, then the wall unit for the rest of the stay. I installed a ventless gas heater in my house in January 2021 when my main furnace went out and it was on order for 6 weeks.

Ventless natural gas, or in my case would be propane, heaters worry me.

I'm not a big fan of the ventless models. I prefer a vented one. Ventless models, in addition to tossing out carbon dioxide, also put additional H2O into the air of the enclosure. Humidity increases can lead to mold and other stuff that's just not good.
