This pair of eagles near Ulster PA have had a nest every year for at least 6 years in the same location. They are using a different tree about 25 yards away now because the old one came down in a storm. Checked them out today and sure enough, one was on the nest. We also have a pair of hooded mergansers on our ponds. It's usually hard to get a close picture but today they hesitated just long enough for the snap.

Are there still Ospreys down by the Cowanesque dam? Saw my first one there many years ago, on the way to camp.

haven't been by Cowanesque in several years but if I were a betting man
Management Programs: Between 1980 and 1996, 265 ospreys – obtained as nestlings from Chesapeake Bay nests – were released in Pennsylvania. The reintroductions occurred in three geographic areas: the Poconos, Tioga County reservoirs and Moraine State Park (Butler County). Nest sites are tracked through the Wildlife Diversity Program and protected under the state Game and Wildlife Code and federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
The osprey nest that was on Park Hill Rd is no longer there it was built on a power pole and was active for several years that I know of but there is nary a stick there now. Had to be taken down as it was huge and nary a stick left.
Denny you drove under the one nest when you left me for Marsh Creek its right on 287 just before you get to the bank on the right hand side ( by Tyoga Container) also on a power pole before you make the Right at the light in town to continue on 287 if you make a left that is Park Hill Rd.

Don't recall if I spotted that nest on 287, or not. IIRC it was pouring really hard out the way, after we parted.
There's one atop a power pole west on Rt. 49 from Westfield, before Potter Brook. That one's been there for a few years. No idea where the eagle nests are closer to camp, but we've been seeing eagles around there for years.
