Seeing just a tad more turkey birds 'round here this year than the past few. And I mean a "tad". Still nothing compared to the flocks of the past. That said, I have not heard a single gobble yet. I know that means nothing, but it's odd for me, since I would hear gobbles starting in late Feb or first of March most years. That said, a gobble to me, is simply a bird announcing that Leek, and more importantly Morel season, is getting close.

ok then how about this? Sound travels alot slower than light...maybe you saw the turkey but the sound of the gobble didn't get to you yet..sorta like you get to see the white puff of smoke from the rifle you feel the bullet go deep in your chest but no mention of hearing the shot... Hey I could write a song about this

They're sounding off here on a regular basis for 2 - 3 weeks already. Had one putting on a strutting show for our wild geese this morning.

Gobbling good here and grouped up with their hens already. I was listening to 2-3 the other morning before work and trying to come up with a plan if they stay in the area.

Just got back from a 4 mile walk on Park Hill Not a peep but given my fast pace I may have foiled my attempt to hear a gobble, All was not lost I did see some turkey tracks in the mud and snow. 6 deer and a flock of redwing blackbirds first I saw this year.
