I got an early Christmas present, a Barnett crossbow and was wondering if anybody goes hunting with their Xbows after Christmas? I never hunted in the late archery season just wondering how much different it would be.

I hunt the flintlock season that's post Christmas. I've seen guys out with their compounds and crossbows though. Deer are very nervous when hunted in the post Christmas season. Any sound of you walking and they usually are on the run before you can spot their white flags up.
But...its certainly a challenge to nail one that time of year.

I rate late archery/flintlock hunting #2 behind rut archery as my favorites. Firearms is a distant third to me. I will be out and about with either my flintlock or crossbow several times after Christmas. Colder the better with snow and I get fired up. Of course, snow is not that common down here.

Just remember the rules do change some if your using a bow. You need a valid antlerless tag to harvest a antlerless deer. If you’re using a flintlock, you can use your buck tag. Just one more thing in our game laws that make you scratch your head.🤔

You probably just didn't finish your sentence out ? . But, If you’re using a flintlock, you can use your UNFILLED buck tag to take an antlerless deer, IF you have a muzzleloader stamp.

Yeah, right now I'm tired, and I don't want to see another deer until next season. We still have a couple of days work butchering what's left hanging in the garage. If anymore get hung there, in the next month, it better be wearing one of my grandson's tag.

Just a thought, but any weapon manufacturer that uses the term "Assault" in their weaponry naming convention in the year 2021, needs a new marketing department. How 'bout the Barnett Woke 350 ?
