Grouse28 and I went pheasant hunting today. Took his grandson along for his first outing. He's 8, so, it was time to go along. We flushed maybe 10 pheasants, I missed 2, of course. Grouse28 knocked one down, we both shot at it. His dog Ti is tenacious on wounded birds. She found it, after it ran away with a broken wing. Isaiah was a happy camper!

Gee, we flushed or reflushed 9 birds today. Anyone that calls them ditch chickens hasn't hunted them after they have been out a few days.
Tough birds to kill when they run ahead of a dog, then flush 80 yds out. Gotta hand it to Jack, that dog has one heck of a nose, and stays in the thick when the birds are there. Amazing pup!!!

Pheasants are not smart but they do run in front of a pointing breed, making them more frustrating than hard to kill.
