Last spring I messed up my back very badly. My wife had to take me to the ER, I was in so much pain. First time I was ever in a wheelchair, and didn't even attempt to refuse the help. For most of April I was in terrible pain. It just plain robs you of any comfort and sleeping was about impossible. Eventually, with a chiropractor and muscle relaxers, and one day at a time, it worked itself out. That said, twice I used special brownies we had purchased in Colorado to get some relief at night. It was the only time I used the brownies, and I think they are still somewhere in the house. Lol It did open my eyes to the medicinal use of....brownies..... A guy in his late 70s that's a friend of my brother's said he has been using some of the gummies for back pain he has had for years. He claims it's the best thing he has ever used for his pain and getting a good night's sleep. I don't know if it a prescription kind of thing or not, but I am going to find out. Aleve helps some but it cause bleeding for me so the doc said stay away from it. Back pain makes everything harder to enjoy.

I have always been against the legalization, until recently. I used a few time back in the late 60’s, never cared for it. All it eve r did was make me hungry and horny, didn’t need any stimulus to do that when I was in my 20’s. Fast forward to day, I’m for legalization of it along the lines of Colorado’s laws. Mostly due to what friends that have told me , for result they have for pain control. We need something to replace pain relief, beside subscription for heavy duty pain relievers, oxytocin and such is habit forming, an getting it for long term pain relief is hard and dangerous.

Hiking Stephenhouse Rd on 37 today 3 dead bear in the dump only one decent size. Loads of acorns, no cuttings only saw one squirrel. Went up to the bat houses couple of pile of bear scat, felt good so I hiked up to the Mid State trail then followed that to White Birch acres and down Brown Run 4 0r 5 scrapes recently made but who ever made them is safe with me. Aint no way I'm dragging anything out of there. I'd hesitate to shoot a squirrel there. Covered 7.2 miles in total and I'll be paying for that for a bit. Was good to see Brown Run Haven't been down that in a couple of years and I do believe the hill got a bit steeper in my abscence.
On the way way home saw a Dad and girl pheasant hunting. Very glad to see that. I havent heard of much youth hunting stories or success. Stroup's daughter's squirrel Well Done! But with pheasant rabbit squirrel in I was expecting a few smiling pictures.
Best luck to those venturing out this next week and the rest of the season. Be safe and Enjoy it.

And it seems October and November are the shortest months of the year.

Her last trip to Colorado, she brought some gummies back for my sister in law. Apparently recreational cannabis is legal in New Jersey, don't know about New York. It does help a person get some sleep

Back surgery..... STAY AWAY FROM IT... I would not have back surgery unless it was the last resort... And I mean LAST RESORT... Doctor makes a mistake and you'll pay for it the rest of your life... I've seen it happen first hand...

So how's all the early season bear hunters doing... You should come over to Jersey as we have one behind every tree...
Yesterday my friends wife heard a knock on the front door... So she looks out to see a Sow and 3 of last year's cubs at the door... She had Indian corn hanging on the knocker for decoration.. Bears were pulling on corn... Eventually got it off and laid in the driveway till they ate it....

Loggy…bring your sun tan lotion & beach chair….gonna be in the 70’s..!! Saw that!! Oh well...least my camp's rain gutters won't be frozen-up making cleaning less of PIA as usual! Doubt if bear will be moving much on their own.

I've been invited up to my friends camp several times over the years. A few years back I was sitting leaning against a tree and heard the "thumping" of the hooves coming straight at me. AS the buck approached, he was on a straight path to me. He stopped mebby 15 yards away and I could count (easy enough) the large 8 point rack he was carrying!! A beautiful buck he was!!
So....as I sat there wondering why I didn't swap out my choice of weapon from firearm to crossbow.....after he stood there for only mebby 30-45 seconds...broadside....perfect lung shot pose......I honestly ask myself why I don't bring my crossbow?
I could use it for bear, deer, and if the occasional coyote happens by.........

I don't have a medical license, but have some friends that do. Apparently, from what they tell me, "edibles" are not legal in PA ? Dunno ? And I don't want to devolve a "Bear" thread, but I'm a bit surprised at some of the reactions here, regarding medical marijuana (in all forms). I remember getting a healthy dose of "beatdown" on here, trying to explain the merits of it for many special medical conditions. INCLUDING mental illness. Now.... back to the Bear. And don't forget to pack your gummies, for the post bear drag pain.

My dad used it his entire life and he is one of the worst physical/ mental wrecks I know of

I don't know your father, and his condition(s), obviously. But you're wrong, IN MY OPINION. Even though you're entitled to your opinion. I've personally seen the merits of its use in my personal life. And I'm not talking about sitting on a basement couch, passing around a water bong. That's the stereotypical image of "pot"...... oh, let me not forget the endless bags of Dorito's.
