I don't think I ever found a moral in my life. I was in my late 60's when I found my first. I find these in the same place every year along the old woods road where we walk the dog, . I do hunt them some in other areas, but never have any luck. I have friends that come home with a bag full, but like all good morel finders, they're not telling where.🤫

I found them once in Tioga County. They were on an old railroad grade. They were only under autumn olive bushes, growing out of the soil which had limestone ballast under it.
Good soil pH and autumn olive is a nitrogen fixing shrub
