I didn’t read the link, but does this mean all future delinquent tax payments should be sent to you?

While on the subject, let's whine a little.. Why can't we simplify the tax code? Oh, that's right, it's important to continue to fleece the average American tax payer who cannot afford a full time accountant to adjust finances to take advantage of continued changes to the code. Plus, too much elitist money rests on the commercial tax preparer companies making a profit. And what will we do with all those IRS employees and accountants? And, why doesn't the IRS offer tax preparation software like HR Block and others? Tax laws in this country continue to be one of the most egregious crimes against the American people perpetrated by the elitists and their lobbyist accomplices. fairtax.org/

Well said Glenn.
But, I've been using TaxAct for a few years now. Fairly inexpensive considering what you pay for a professional "human" to do them, and I guess keeps up to date with changes in the tax code ? At least I hope.

For those who don't know how to click on a link(provided above):
IR-2021-15, January 15, 2021
WASHINGTON — IRS Free File – online tax preparation products available at no charge – launched today, giving taxpayers an early opportunity to claim credits like the Recovery Rebate Credit and other deductions, the Internal Revenue Service announced.
Leading tax software providers make their online products available for free as part of a 19-year partnership with the Internal Revenue Service. There are nine products in English and two in Spanish.

Gotta agree with you Glenn. What you addressed is only one part of a much larger problem. Government is meddling in every aspect of our lives and taking over in leaps and bounds.
I read an article this morning that PA received many millions less in impact fees in 2020 so once again there is movement to a severance tax that would come out of royalties to land owners.
The spending at the national level is outrageous with stimulus going to people who don't need it and increased unemployment that encourages people to not work for their regular pay. Those are only the tip of the iceberg as far as losing control of our lives to people with personal economic/political agendas.
I'm not a fan of revolution talk but I do feel there will be an uprising of sorts in time. Hopefully not armed or destructive but one of a unified voice against government taking over every facet of our lives.
I think Trump burned his bridges and I can't think of another who could generate the following he did but it would take that sort of no bs person to motivate the populace and effect change. Hopefully one with better orality.
Nicki Haley and Ted Cruz are positioning themselves for 2024 but I'm not sure the fight spirit is there.

Supplied links are appreciated. But it would be much easier on me to simply mail you all my docs, and have you do my taxes. Last year was my final year in the tax business. Although my IRS Enrolled Agent status is still active am only doing family member returns. After 45 years need a lil nontaxing time!! Of course...mebbie if I would adopt you into the Loggy Family.......well after second thought scrap that!! Happy filing!!

"•IRS Free File is available to taxpayers whose 2020 adjusted gross income was $72,000 or less." Yep........ would virtually be FREE for ALL the minimum wage earners etc. Plus, would also be available for those with total Gross Incomes much higher than $72,000 who have significant deductions from their Gross Income either from AGI reductions per Schedule 1 or direct W-2 Box 1 & 3 differentials.
