A move away from politics would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part, same as always. Trying to get a crew together, COVID-19 has some guys worried, doubt if many will be staying at camp, but hopefully we will still have a crew. Pound the thick stuff and hope for the best. South side of the Susquehanna has little sign, but hearing north side has a good acorn crop and bears. Trouble is none of us have scouted the north side and no little about hunting it. But hunt we will and see what happens. Bushmaster might have some fun.

I went bear hunting in the early "old and disabled guy's can use a rifle" season. I was at a friends camp in Tionesta. Had a great time.....flushed two grouse and had another walk in front of me!! Such a pretty bird!! (Imagine my surprise when I'm floundering to a spot and I flush two grouse!! And the best part was if I had a shotgun....they were flying straight away and not weaving in and out of cover!!)
But for the bear opener this year I'm not gonna make it. Me and the Mr's agreed to take our two granddaughters on Saturday and thru Sunday. I'll direct my energy to being entertained by a 3YO (going on 15YO!!) and a 9MO who is as pleasant as the day is long!!

".flushed two grouse and had another walk in front of me!!"
Dave, were you hunting near one of the old tornado blow down thickets? My camp is near Tionesta and I haven't seen a grouse there , or anywhere for the last couple years. I never hear any drumming anymore either.
Glad to hear folks are still finding them. I was afraid the were going to disappear. I used to love to hunt them in the old strip mine thickets around here. I wouldn't shoot one now, but I sure miss having them flush and give my heart a little bit of a jump.

Actually, we were on Timber company land. I saw the three, another buddy flushed two and two other guys flushed one each. Appears they are making a comeback....unless somebody paid two grouse to "make the rounds"?

Our camp yard borders the ANF and just down the road there's hundreds(maybe thousands)of Collin pines property with signs welcoming hunters. I hope you're right about a comeback.

Wait 'til "Little Miss Pleasant" turns, ohhhhhhh 13-14 ? The Mr's (with some help from me) raised one Son and two Daughters. Trust me.....I have experience in that age group!! My 3YO is cut from the same mold as her Mom. My youngest daughter could argue you into submission that there is no ice at the north pole!! She's now a lawyer......fits right in!!

Headin to camp in Elk Co. with my son and rem700 in search of the elusive black bear. This will be the 14th time I had a shot at the triple crown, but I don't have much hope.
