There was a doe that was obviously in heat this morning and she ended up going into our pond and just meandering around for about 20 minutes or so. Of course the wind sent the message and 4 bucks showed up. Two were dinks but two were decent. They were all over our yard, by the house and into the woods bordering our yard, including twice right underneath on of my stands. It was something to watch and in this heat I am not ready to kill a buck anyway but it figures that would all take place while I'm watching from the kitchen window.

Great pics ! I have 2 buck very similar to the one on the left hanging out in my yard. One is now a 7 pt as of yesterday, guessing he lost his left G3 fighting over a dang female........

Last year when I was up at camp, probably fall turkey weekend, there were three bucks feeding together near a camp, the next valley over from my place. That was Friday. The next day, a guy stopped in front of my camp when I was coming back there late in the afternoon. He was looking at something across the road, took me a few minutes to figure out what. A buck was chasing two doe around in about an eight acre gully full of goldenrod and tree tubes, (grown up former pasture). Now and then they got in an open spot and I could see 'em. They went round and round in there for a good 15-20 minutes. Guess the doe eventually went out the bottom end, down in the creek bottom? The buck came out in the hay field above the gully, stood there with his head down and wheezed for a few minutes, then crossed the road and went up into my woods. Later that evening when I was driving around looking for deer right before dark, spied another buck trying to mount a doe, maybe a half mile from camp. She'd take off and he fell down twice. Seeing three bucks feeding together the day before, I wondered if the rut had started yet. No question after Saturday. Guess they hadn't gotten the memo yet.
