Will have my turkey tag in my pocket while archery hunting deer. Good thing is this year I can shoot a turkey without having to have orange with me. Bad thing is my archery deer stands are not in areas were turkeys are likely to walk through. I always take a turkey call with me though. I have called in turkeys I heard in the distance and killed a few.
Best of luck to those chasing those feathered rascals.

I've only seen turkeys twice so far while archery hunting this year and I've seen a flock of 7 gobblers a couple times in one of our fields in the last couple weeks. I have heard more gobbling this fall than anytime I remember. Maybe a couple of the young ones think it spring time?.......That reminds me, I haven't heard a single grouse drumming this fall. I usually hear at least a few every fall, but I don't think I have flushed one in over a year. There used to be lots of them in my neck of the woods.

Your right. Coyotes, fishers, and fox don't hunt on Sunday,we shouldn't either.
I saw a few birds Sat. in some thick brush, and couldnt get a shot. They will be back this week. 🦃

Well, since my cousin said he hasn't seen any turkeys around our neck of the woods in a month, I didn't bother. Cut more camp wood, instead. Beautiful day yesterday, sandwiched in between days of rain and snow flurries. Not long before I headed out to cut wood, young lady stopped with a nice seven point she killed Sat. morning from one of my old ladder stands. Her first PA bow buck. Did eventually see a small flock of hens about four miles down the valley, while on my wan to town Saturday. Left for home this afternoon. Six hens about two miles from camp. One nice day out of four, getting colder and snow into tomorrow morning, so headed home. Chain saw quit on me after one load, no reason to stay. Did get some other chores done ahead of rifle season, in spite of Thursday and Friday rains.

Saw more turkeys this fall near camp than I don’t know when. Wife and I saw a flock of 16 along the ridge road about 6 weeks ago. Old navy buddy and myself saw 4 hens just above camp ,last Sunday in September. Wife and I saw 4 gobblers on fire road SE of camp 2 weeks ago. Seeing some grouse too.
