Not enough posts about fishin' the ice... my 5th time out this winter. We did pretty well on a nice quiet pond in the snow yesterday. Plenty 'o ice. I only drilled 2 holes... one for my father-in-law and one for myself. I didn't even have to move (other than to refresh my beverage). The 3 other guys we were with were drilling and drilling all around us, but not hammering them like I was. I must have just been fishing the 'gills living room at my hole! I was throwing a bunch back too. Didn't even bother with tip-ups. Last time we fished here we got nice perch, and that what I was hoping for, but you can see the one and only little perch I got. I'm going to pickle these guys like herring... Nice to have a new "big boy" phone on me to take more photos now...

6-7 inches. Fitches Pond... I'd say it was a small lake. My home course, Lackawanna Lake, has 11in according to their report today.

Very nice cl3!! We never got ice here in York County & I havent managed to pull off a rip North as of yet. Loggy: Like I said one hole. 4-5feet of water. They could not resist my gold spoon and wax worms. If I wasn't getting bumped, they had stolen my bait. Yer running out of time!

I bet our ponds barely ever had 4 inches on them, and that was only for a couple days.

I bet our ponds barely ever had 4 inches on them, and that was only for a couple days. I forget how we really are the southern edge of the ice belt here. That'd be easy drilling though?! Last Sunday I went out and just reused someone else's holes because I didn't want to hand auger though 10" of ice... Got two trout though... Thanks, Some Guy!

The bluegills have been transformed... brined for two days and are now resting easy in a wine broth with onions.
